Club Outing – Howarth ‘Steam Punk’ event 11 & 12th October 2025

Some of our members just got back from the Haworth Steampunk Weekend 2025 held in the historic town of Haworth, and what an absolutely magnificent experience it was!

The entire town, the setting for the Bronte Sisters, was completely transformed from October 10th to 12th. It was incredible to see: the streets were filled with the most vibrant and elaborate steampunk attire. Everywhere you looked, someone was sporting an amazing costume, from detailed accessories to full-on, inventive gear—the people-watching alone was worth the trip!

Best of all, this was the biggest steampunk charity event in the UK, raising vital funds for Sue Ryder’s Manorlands Hospice, so it felt great to be part of an event supporting such a noble cause.

If you missed it, you definitely missed out on a unique, action-packed weekend!  Below are a small sample of the brilliant captures from some of our members.

Club Walk – Saturday 5th July 2025

Phil Dennison led another gorgeous walk, choc full of photographic opportunities between the beautiful Yorkshire Dales villages of Austwick and Feizor, just off the main A65 Skipton to Ingleborough bypass.

The scenery was superb, quaint cottages and interesting village life aplenty, to satisfy our “street and portrait photographers”, fabulous bird and wildlife opportunities, babbling brooks and farmhouse ruins to explore as well as views over all 3 of Yorkshires main peaks, Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen y Ghent! – we were spoilt!

At Feizor, the half way point, there was a fab coffee/cake venue for a half walk rest and refuel with both indoor and outdoor seating!

Our very won Stefan Pankow captured these stunning black and white shots from the walk.  Thank you Phil for organising another great walk for the club!

Club Walk – Saturday 10th May 2025

A number of our members enjoyed a photographic walk, once again organised and lead by Phil Dennison.  This time, the walk was in the gorgeous East Lancashire scenery around Cliviger. The walk was a smidge over 4 miles, predominantly flat on good walking paths and lanes with a couple of gradual inclines along the route, though not too taxing! As well as stunning landscapes, it took in some woodland, 2 reservoirs, the gorgeous hamlet of Hurstwood, and was a good opportunity to spot some wildlife and included an odd surprise or two along the way!  Below you can see a small selection of some of our members photos.

Club Walk – Saturday 22nd March 2025

A number of our members enjoyed a photographic walk, once again organised and lead by Phil Dennison.  This time, the walk was along the River Ribble in the vicinity of West Bradford which is close to Clitheroe.  The weather was fine, unlike the earlier weather predictions, and afterwards we enjoyed a really good pub lunch.  Phil’s walks are a great way to explore places you might not be familiar with, together with good chats as we go along.  Thank you, Phil, for all of the preparation you put into each walk.

You can find some photos from the walk in our gallery section.  Our next walk is being organised for May 10th.  Please do get in touch for details if you would like to join us
